Dragon Age 4 confirmed! It’s been almost 4 years since the release of the latest DA game, Dragon Age: Inquisition and we’ve yet to hear any news from them since. This could be due to the fact that Anthem is due for beta launch any time now. The ambitious multiplayer open-world sci-fi game is BioWare’s chance for a come back after the flop of Mass Effect: Andromeda. It’s understandable that the company would want to focus their efforts into perfecting the game. Their reputation is at stake.
What We Know About Dragon Age 4
Nothing has been officially confirmed by BioWare. But the executive producer of Anthem and Dragon Age, Mark Darrah has tweeted this out recently:
This pretty much confirms the existence of the 4th game. Obviously, since the company still busy with Anthem, it’s unlikely that the game is very far in development. In fact, they might just be starting on the storyboard for the game.
Because a day after Darrah’s tweet, the general manager of BioWare tweeted this:
This is actually pretty exciting considering Dragon Age: Inquisition has one of my favourite main storylines. So far, no news about any of the characters returning or anything, really. All we know is that it’s going to be “Story & character focused.”
There will be some differences in gameplay as well. They’ll be “designing a game for continued storytelling after the main story.” This possibly means that the story of side quests will be more intricate. Perhaps like the side quests from Skyrim: The Elder Scrolls where a single random quest can lead to the discovery of an extinct civilisation. But these are just merely speculations. As Hudson says, it’s too early to talk details and it’s definitely too early to set a release date.
For now, just look forward for the beta launch of Anthem.
