A Las Vegas judge has ordered sports betting influencer David Oancea, popularly known as “Vegas Dave,” to surrender several high-value assets by August 5 or face incarceration. District Judge Tara Clark Newberry determined that Oancea repeatedly ignored court orders concerning a civil judgment related to Cabo Platinum, a luxury vacation rental firm in Cabo San Lucas, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Oancea’s Alleged Non-Compliance

Oancea, who has amassed a major online following and appeared in Showtime’s 2019 docuseries “Action,” was accused by Cabo Platinum of sabotaging bookings for properties he was associated with. This included allegedly blocking access and interfering with existing reservations. In July 2025, District Judge Timothy Williams issued a $30.2 million judgment against him, forbidding further disruption of rentals. Court documents indicate that Oancea defied these directives and didn’t pay the judgment.

In an earlier order from September 2025, Oancea was instructed to turn over luxury items, including three Mexican properties, $375,000 in cryptocurrency, a Richard Mille watch, and several HermΓ¨s Birkin bags. The two-week compliance period came and went without action from Oancea. After a six-day hearing, Judge Newberry found his testimony to be “false” and indicative of “willful noncompliance,” awarding nearly $294,000 in attorneys’ fees and $17,000 in additional costs to Cabo Platinum. Her ruling criticized Oancea’s claimed inability to comply as self-serving and strategic.

Oancea’s legal team, consisting of Alex LeVeque, Ross Evans, and Michael Desmond, filed arguments suggesting the case had escalated beyond a normal contract dispute, claiming it exemplified the district courts’ extensive contempt powers. This isn’t Vegas Dave’s first legal tussle; industry insiders will recall his previous issues with compliance and regulatory orders.

Next Steps and Potential Outcomes

Vegas Dave now faces a critical deadline. Should he fail to meet the August 5 requirement to surrender the assets, jail time appears imminent. Observers in both the legal and gambling communities will be watching closely to see if Oancea complies in the final hours or opts to face the consequences behind bars.
