Virginia Sports Betting Handle Sees November Growth

The Virginia Lottery recently published its report on sports betting activities for November 2025, revealing a 5% increase in the handle compared to the previous year. The total handle for the month reached approximately $798.9 million. Adjusted gross revenue (AGR) was reported at $95.3 million, with mobile operators contributing $95.1 million and retail outlets adding $193,052. Bettors collected winnings totaling $699.6 million, while operators achieved a win percentage of 12.42%.

The state boasts fourteen mobile sports betting operators and three casinos, with ten of these operators posting a net positive AGR for the month. This resulted in tax contributions amounting to $14.3 million. Casino revenues in the state, which include Hard Rock Bristol, Rivers Casino Portsmouth, Caesars Virginia, and The Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk, reached a total of $82.4 million for November. This figure represents a 29.5% year-on-year increase and a slight 0.3% rise from October 2025. Slot machines generated $61.2 million, while table games contributed $21.2 million to the overall casino revenue.

Virginia benefited from $18.9 million in tax revenue, which was directed to the Gaming Proceeds Fund. The steady growth in sports and casino wagering underscores the expanding market and the increasing contribution to state finances. As the gambling landscape continues to evolve, stakeholders remain attentive to regulatory changes and market dynamics that could impact future revenues.
