Wind Creek Chicago Southland, which opened its doors last year, has been a financial boon to 43 towns across the south and southwest suburbs of Chicago. Each of these municipalities has received $118,154 in revenue from the casino, with two additional towns benefiting from even larger contributions.
The distribution of funds from the casino, a critical source of income for many underfunded towns, provides much-needed support to municipal budgets and pension plans, according to insights shared by East Hazel Crest Village President Thomas Brown.
