In October 2025, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) reported a remarkable surge in gaming revenue, totaling $611.1 million. This figure, which includes earnings from the state’s casinos, racetracks, and their affiliates, represents a 22.3% increase compared to the previous year. The notable rise in revenues has led to a significant boost in gambling taxes, amounting to millions for the state.

The jump in revenue is a testament to the robust performance of the gaming industry in New Jersey. In October 2024, the total gaming revenue was recorded at $499.8 million, highlighting the substantial year-on-year growth experienced this October. On a year-to-date basis, the state’s total gaming revenue reached $5.74 billion, a 10% increase from the $5.22 billion reported in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Operators in the gaming sector have contributed $88.2 million in taxes for the month of October alone. Since the beginning of the year, casinos, racetracks, and their partners have paid a total of $699.9 million in taxes, underscoring the industry’s role as a significant revenue source for the state.

The report further elaborated on the performance of individual sectors within the gaming industry. The state’s nine casino hotels reported a casino win of $234.7 million for October 2025, marking an increase of 12.5% from the $208.7 million recorded in October 2024. This performance indicates a steady recovery and growth trajectory for the brick-and-mortar casino businesses within New Jersey.

On a year-to-date basis, the casino win reached $2.44 billion, showing a moderate growth of 3.4% compared to the previous year. This steady increase reflects the resilience and adaptability of the casino sector amidst a competitive and evolving market landscape.

The online casino gaming sector, which has been a key growth driver, reported a win of $260.3 million for October 2025. This figure represents impressive growth of 21.8% year-on-year, as the industry had recorded $213.6 million in iGaming win during October 2024. The burgeoning online gaming market continues to captivate players, providing a convenient and diverse gaming experience.

Year-to-date, the iGaming win stood at $2.39 billion, showcasing a stellar growth of 22.6% from the previous year. This rapid expansion highlights the increasing consumer preference for online gaming platforms, driven by technological advancements and the convenience they offer.

The sports betting sector in New Jersey also reported significant growth, with gross revenue reaching $116.1 million in October 2025. This marks an impressive increase of 49.8% from the $77.5 million reported in October 2024. The sector’s growth is fueled by a combination of enthusiastic sports enthusiasts and strategic partnerships between casinos and sports organizations.

Despite the positive outlook, some industry analysts urge caution, noting that such rapid growth might not be sustainable in the long term. They point out that fluctuations in consumer behavior, regulatory changes, and increased competition could pose challenges to the sustained growth of the gaming sector. However, the current figures reflect a vibrant and thriving industry that is contributing significantly to the state’s economy.

Year-to-date, the sports betting gross revenue reached $914.6 million, largely consistent with the $912.8 million reported in the same period last year. This consistency suggests a stable demand for sports wagering, even as the market continues to evolve.

Overall, New Jersey’s gaming industry has demonstrated impressive growth and resilience, adapting to the changing market dynamics and consumer preferences. With strategic investments and innovations, the sector is well-positioned to capitalize on future opportunities and continue contributing to the state’s economic prosperity. As one observer noted, the numbers speak for themselves: New Jersey has solidified its position as a leading gaming hub on the East Coast.
